This year has set the stage for two monumental federally funded healthcare laws: The HITECH Act (aka electronic health records adoption) and the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (aka healthcare reform).
Together, they have created opportunities for billions of dollars in workforce development, education and public agency grants impacting the healthcare community.
Until now, there has not been an event to bring ALL the community stakeholders together to network, collaborate and share our collective workforce planning wisdom. The San Diego HealthTECH Workforce Forum on September 17th will be that event.
TWO EVENTS IN ONE
- From 8:00 am to 2:00 pm: We will assemble over 25 senior-level content experts representing the public and private healthcare community from education, government, and business. These experts will provide strategic and tactical insights on how recent federal healthcare legislation will impact the workforce, and how you can apply this knowledge to improve your organization’s mission.
- From 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm: Students, incumbent workers and career changers will have access to workshops on how Electronic Health Record adoption, and healthcare reform, will create new employment opportunities and career ladders. Registrants for these sessions will also have opportunities to meet with employers and educators in the exhibit area. A limited number of individual career coaching sessions will also be available from 9: oo am through 5:00 pm.
